Old Kona Air State Recreation Center

Coming from South Kona

1. Search “Old Airport State Recreation Center” on your favorite maps app. The address is: 75-5560 Kuakini Hwy, Kailua-Kona, HI 96740. We will be at the far north end of Old Airport Beach. Park near two pavilions and the bathrooms. See photo below.

2. From Ali’i Drive, Turn Right onto Likana Ln.

3. Turn Left onto Kuakini Hwy. You will pass soccer fields and a children’s park on your left.

4. Once you pass the children’s park, vear left.

5. Turn Right at the Hockey Rink and then take the road all the way down to the end (pass the botanical garden on your right).

6. Once you are at the north end you will two pavilions and the bathrooms. Park there.

7. Look for our Hawaiian rainbow peace flags on the beach, close to the water. See photo below. That is where you can check in!

Coming from North Kona

2. From Highway 19, Turn Right onto Makala Blvd.

3. Turn Right onto Kuakini Hwy.

4. Once you pass the children’s park, vear left.

5. Turn Right at the Hockey Rink and then take the road all the way down to the end (pass the botanical garden on your right).

6. Once you are at the north end of the beach you will two pavilions and a bathroom. Park there.

7. Look for the Hawaiian rainbow peace flags, near the bathrooms and pavilions. See photo below. That is where you can check in!

Pahoehoe Beach Park

Search “Pahoehoe Beach Park” on your favorite maps app.
The address is: 77-6434 Ali’i Drive, Kailua-Kona, HI 96740.
Park along Ali’i Drive or the Magic Sands Beach Park across from Magic Sands Beach, about 50 feet from Pahoehoe.
Our classes will take place on the grass in front of the ocean. Picture below.
